W dniu wczorajszym (02.03) międzynarodowa grupa negocjacyjna (ITF/IMEC) jak i ITF indywidualnie, uznały Cieśninę Ormuz i wody przyległe za strefę wysokiego ryzyka (High Risk Area) gdzie obecnie ponad 200 zakotwiczonych statków oczekuje na bezpieczny tranzyt. IBF Warlike Operations Area Committee (WOAC) zgodził się także uznać prawo marynarzy do odmowy pracy / udania się z obszar Cieśniny Ormuz.

bonus equal to basic wage, payable for the actual duration of stay / transit;
doubled compensation for death and disability;
right to refuse sailing, with repatriation at company’s cost and compensation equal to 2 month’s basic wage\
recommended to increase security arrangements equivalent to ISPS Level 3

9. ITF Extended Risk Zone – Gulf of Oman Chart 5 - The area is defined from Ra’s al Hadd light on a bearing

of 035 degrees to reach the limiting latitude of 24° 00’N

Bonus equal to basic wage, payable only on the day the vessel is attacked in an act of piracy;
doubled compensations for death and disability if they occur on the day the vessel is attacked
increased BMP level
